The 2017 vintage of our daughter Jillian’s namesake wine is an estate blend of 34% Montepulciano, 33% Aglianico and 33% Dolcetto.  It is bright medium ruby color with garnet hints and offers a nose of blueberry, baked blackberry and cherry with notes of vanilla, smokiness and earth.  After four years in the bottle the palate still opens with fresh blackberry and black cherry fruit, accompanied by leather, earth and vanilla.  Jillianico has a medium body, with medium acidity and tannins and a clean, smooth finish, making it a perfect pairing wine with a variety of foods including pork, chicken, tomato sauce-based dishes and grilled meats.
